Solar Thermal Systems
Solar Thermal Systems need to be able to absorb, retain, transfer and store the solar energy as efficiently as possible. For this to happen their needs to be certain pieces of equipment in place. These include; a collector (panel), a controller, a pump and a hot water cylinder.
The controller is used to measure the temperature of the water that is in the panel and this then compares it to the temperature of the water that is in the cylinder. If the temperature of the water that is in the solar panel is more than 6 degrees higher, than the water in the hot water cylinder then the controller will turn on the pump and it will transfer the heat from the solar panel to the hot water cylinder
